Volunteers redesigned this Web site. They found the time - a few minutes here, a few hours there - to consult, analyze, update, rebuild and test the original site. Dedication

This Web site is dedicated to the memory of Kay Rawson. Kay served as Harmony House's volunteer co-ordinator and as a member of the Harmony House Web site committee. The following dedication was written by Lee-Anne Lee, the Family Support and Children's Advocate at Harmony House.

In memory of Kay
I am honoured to be asked to say a few words to remember Kay. Kay was first and foremost my friend, the kind of friend that anyone would be honoured to have in their life. She taught me so much both personally and professionally.

I started working with Kay 20 years ago at the Elizabeth Fry Society in Ottawa. I encouraged her to apply for the volunteer position here at Harmony House, because I knew she would bring her wisdom, her grace and compassion for the women and children we serve.

Kay was the kind of women who gave her all to everything she did. As a co-worker, she knew without a doubt that the women and children come first. They are the reason we do this work.

I truly have never heard Kay say an unkind word about anyone. Kay taught me so many things, but most importantly she taught me that when we walk to the edge of all the light that we know and are about to step into the darkness. Faith is knowing that one of two things will happen: there will be something solid for us to stand on; or we will be shown how to fly.

We will miss her smile, her joyfulness, her kindness and her thoughtfulness. Bye for now, Kay.

A big shout-out to Matt Marjanski, an excellent Web designer, who volunteered his time to redesign this site. Matt, you did a wonderful job. And, a special thank you to Martyna Marjanska, who helped out on the design.

The committee would also like to thank countless former-residents, the Board of Directors, staff members and volunteers of Harmony House. These fabulous women gave valuable input at every stage of the project.

The Web site committee

The Web committee first met in spring 2008 to start the redesign project. Sometimes it seemed that we would never finish, but the committee members hung in there through thick and thin. This new site wouldn't have been possible without their dedication.
