When departing a violent domestic situation, try to take the following with you:

Your identification

• Birth certificate
• Citizenship papers
• Passport
• Health card
• Driver's license
• Social Insurance Card
• Marriage certificate

Your children's identification

• Birth certificate
• Citizenship papers
• Passport
• Health card
• Custody papers

Other items

• Credit cards
• Bank cards
• Bank statements
• Police reports
• Any medications that you or your children require
• Something comforting for your children, such as a toy or a favourite blanket
