Job Description: Childcare Volunteer

The Childcare Volunteer will provide voluntary childcare for women using the services of Harmony House.

Duties and Responsibilities

To care for a maximum of three children for the specified time period
To ensure the safety and well being of the children throughout said period
To implement therapeutic, age appropriate activities for the children in your care
To log and/or pass along any significant issues, behaviours or situations that occurred during the childcare, ensuring the team is kept well-informed
Access Harmony House resource library for activities, movies, games, stories to use during childcare

Must be over 18 years of age
Willing to submit a recent Criminal Check
Provide 2 references
Ability to understand and maintain confidentiality
Woman positive and child positive attitudes
Ability to understand the needs of children at varying stages of their development
Must be responsible and dependable
Committment to a minimum 4 hours per month for a period of one year
